|What is FEA?||Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a type of computer program that uses finite element method to analyse material or object and find how applied stresses will affect material or design. FEA helps determine any points of weakness in design before manufacture. Mostly used in aerospace and other high-stress applications, analysis is done by creating a mesh of points in the shape of an object that contains information about material and object at each point for analysis. FEA can also analyse the effect of vibrations, fatigue, and heat transfer.|
|What is FMI / FMU?||Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) defines standardised interface to be used in computer simulations to develop complex cyber-physical systems. FMI implementation by software modelling tool enables creation of simulation model that can be interconnected or creation of a software library called Functional Mock-up Unit (FMU). To create the FMI standard, a number of software companies and research centres worked in cooperation with a consortium conducted by Dassault Systèmes under the name of MODELISAR.|

|What is JLR Supplier Program - The Engineering Toolset?||Due to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) varied ownership history, a complex mixture of automotive industry software was inherited from previous owners, this was not scaled or supportive of JLR’s aggressive business plan. So to enhance innovation and reduce development time, JLR partnered with Dassault Systèmes to deploy solutions in a business transformation program called i-PLM. The 2019 JLR Supplier Program i-PLM 2.0, has now commenced following alignment of Dassault Systèmes and JLR: the Engineering Toolset. The development and implementation of the Engineering Toolset will support JLR with their growth strategy in coming years for future model development.|
