Press Release, November 2017:  Zaha Hadid Architects have won the 2017 Award for Innovation in Collaboration awarded by the Construction Computing journal.

This was announced at the recent awards dinner and was awarded for the Innovative Collaboration processes and software technology the company used in the design of the Danjiang Bridge in Taiwan.

The design team at Zaha’s used the CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE On Cloud solution to assist in the coordination of their own team in London, together with other collaborators in Germany and Taiwan.

This cloud-based 3D design system provided a common 3D data platform for all parties between Europe and Asia and acted as the central data repository, or Common Data Environment (CDE) in BIM terms, for the project.

Commenting on their win, Geoffrey Haines of Desktop Engineering Ltd (DTE) who supplied and supported Zaha’s use of CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE said 

“We are pleased the judges appreciated what Zaha’s achieved with this trans-continental project. The team were able to continuously coordinate the design data, which speeded up the whole design process. The project achieved outstanding operational economics through a compact design team completing work with minimum delay in communication, all enabled by the 3DEXPERIENCE integrated technology platform.”
