As many of us were tucked up in bed a couple of Saturdays ago, two intrepid DTE employees, equipped with torches, trekking poles and plenty of fluids, were commencing the epic BHF 105km non-stop walk that would see them leave London and arrive in Brighton 28 hours later.
Given a 30 hour timeframe, of the 896 who started the trek 466 managed to complete it and two of those were Chris Palmer and Paul Gubb (left and centre of picture) of DTE. Described as “the ultimate walking challenge”, Chris and Paul had been in training for many months to build up the endurance and mental strength necessary to finish the trek.
The trek is a fundraising event on behalf of the British Heart Foundation. Coronary heart disease is still the UK’s single biggest killer, and funds raised from the event go towards research which ensures hearts keep beating.

Well done boys!
