10 August 2016 – Desktop Engineering, Seco Tools and Modig Machine Tools presented to a packed house of Senior Aerospace Engineers at Seco’s showroom in Warwickshire how their joint partnership approach to NC Machining of Aerospace parts has led to real world savings of up to 50% in Machining time and 72% in raw material costs.
David Modig (President of Modig Machine Tools), Dave Todd (Manager of Strategic Engineering Group – Seco Tools) and Chris Palmer and Paul Gubb from DTE explained how their joint approach to reviewing how aerospace customers machine their components had resulted in the potential savings by Modig’s Machine Tools, Seco’s cutting tool knowledge and DTE’s knowledge of both the CATIA Machining process and ICAM’s Post Processing, Simulation and Machining Optimisation and that how by applying what had been learnt from these real world projects that other customers (and not just from aerospace) could benefit from these potential savings as well.
