Modelling Methodology in CATIA V5 Fig 1 The angle bracket part's modelling stageIn this seventh article of a series additional rules are discussed and are to be considered when defining part files. This article closes the main set of modelling methodology for prismatic geometry driven parts, with a single body.

The following rules are complementary to others presented previously, and are discussed in detail:

  1. Part number must be defined
  2. Do not insert geometrical sets inside bodies
  3. Use the publication tool
  4. Publish the positioning entities
  5. Check for micro-bodies
  6. Break all links to external files
  7. Delete empty containers
  8. Hide all non-solid geometry entities
  9. Update before save
