Desktop Engineering Extends Routes To Market For DELMIA

Desktop Engineering has become a Value Added Reseller for Dassault Systemes DELMIA software.

DELMIA, which provides users the technology and collaborative environment to digitally define the way products are made, compliments Desktop Engineering’s existing Dassault Systemes 3D model based design-to-manufacture software, systems and service provision.

Geoff Haines, Desktop Engineering MD said, “By adding DELMIA to our portfolio we can offer an enhanced capability to our current and future customers in all sectors of industry. These include traditional large scale aero, auto and other OEMs as well as their suppliers - many of which will benefit from the power that DELMIA can bring to the SME user.”

Desktop Engineering plans to extend the use of DELMIA, in conjunction with Gehry Technologies Digital Project (DP) into the construction industry. Geoff Haines explained, “Initial trials on a major building project in Hong Kong have shown that modelling and optimising the shuttering and concreting work-flow on a 70 story building, reduced the work per floor from 6 to 4 days.”

Haines concluded, “We are bringing DELMIA to multiple sectors of UK industry and showing how this powerful technology can benefit companies of any size by improving the productivity and efficiency of capital equipment, plant and personnel through the use of 3D simulation software.”
